Convo pix

Okay, here are the requested convo pictures. I just dump a few in, not all... so dun complain. Muaks!

Way too long for an update...

Hahaha... okay, I'll admit that it's a really stupid title, but at least it's true.

But honestly, it has been like ages since I last blog. I could blog earlier... but as usual I kept procrastinating and procrastinating... and yea, well...

So... anyway, been doing a lot of interesting things... Let's see...

In June I mostly lay around and hoping that I actually pass my stupid paper and finally graduate. Though truthfully, passing or not does not really matters to me... it the sitting for the exam that really gets to me. I wish to know who is the delightful idiot that first thought of examination to test us. Hmm... history does always mentioned some form of test or so... so maybe it 's part of growing up...

... Sigh... Have I mentioned how much I hate exams? As in really, really loath them?

Of course, during this time I got hooked into playing online games and sleeping. And spending some time actually writing my resume and sending out applications... I know, I know... I should really enjoy what freedom I had but I was getting really bored. And a bored Kaikai is never really a good thing... well, according to my friends anyway. Never did see what's so bad about it... So anyway, I was lucky enough to be offered a job to start in July, as a technical writer. Apparently my English is good enough. *Insert big, big grin.

Then come July, of course, there the new work, but before I did, I went Langkawi!! With Chao, Yeow and darling brat who goes by the name of Eugene. Met up with Jia Yi there too. Poor guy, working on the island so alone. Hahaha... Some pictures of Langkawi above.

Started work 2 days after coming back from Langkawi. Pretty interesting job. Plenty of reading and writing... and having wonderful friends telling me that the job description really suit me. Please note the sarcasm.

And then there's the convo in August... Will post the pictures in next post. You just want to see me in keipo, Chao. Yea, I actually did wear my cheongsam to convo. Garnered plenty of attention... well, duh...

Ah... I'm getting lazy... Shall stop blogging now.

Let's go to the zoo, there's a lot of things to do...

I went to the zoo!!! Melaka zoo for your information... the one which Chao still does not want to go and Chanlie flat out refuses to go... Mean people...

Anyways... I went to the zoo!!! With Ray Mun and my 'twin', Jia Shin (those who actually know my name in mandarin would know why she's my twin). Somehow, even though I am a bit obsessive (though Yeow would say I'm utterly obsessive, same difference really) over the zoo trip, I, myself, was pretty amazed that we ended up spending a total of five and a half hours in the zoo... Wow, I say.

I did see Nikki, the tiger that was almost eaten. She pretty grown up... see pix on the left. Not a good capture of her... she's too agitated to stay still. I managed to capture a tiger showing off its fangs too. Melaka zoo probably has the most tigers in whole of Malaysia...

Lots of birds as well... as colourful as you can imagine. Cute owls bopping their heads with squint-y eyes, large impressive vulture (vulture as in vulture, there's only one vulture there), the normal collections of pretty flighty birds, parrots, macaws and cockatoo, eagles and hawks, all sort of cranes, and those fanciful birds that have flowers on their heads (no idea what are their names, not too interested).

Then they have the safari... a mini-safari they called it. Open pastures for the safari animals (read: herbivores) to run around. The most amazing thing happened here. As we turned the corner of the walking platform, the giraffes got spooked or something, and were running. That was the most amazing sight I have ever seen! Those giraffes run like they were flying! They honestly gives that impression. It was stunning... stunning enough that none of us actually remember to capture a video of that. We were too mesmerized... Hahaha...

Deers... whatever sub-species of deers you can think of, they have it... I think I had enough of deers by the time I was halfway through the zoo... Do they actually need that many deers? They mostly look the same too.

And a zoo is never complete without a couple of monkeys. Plenty of those critters jumping around like mad in their cages and what not. Some were even running all over the zoo, into other animals' cages and eating their food. There's even a slow loris... not slow enough though...

And a few other animals... I'm lazy to do any more commentary...

And that's my zoo trip!! Pretty random I know, but it's fun... I have a lot more other pictures... but I don't think I should put all of them here.

Eugene, if you mention anything about the quality of pictures here, I'll string you up somewhere when I come down M'cca this weekend.

Chao, let's go Taiping night zoo!!

Morbid songs....

I wonder how many of you actually listen to some of children's songs located all over the world. On my part, listening to some of them, I find that they are actually creepy. Take this children's song in French called Alouette:

Alouette, gentille alouette, (Lark, gentle lark)
Alouette, je te plumerais. (Lark, I will pluck you)
Je te plumerais la tête. (I will pluck you head)
Je te plumerais la tête. (I will pluck you head)
Et la tête, Et la tête ! (Your head, your head)
Et la tête, Et la tête ! (Your head, your head)
A, a, a, a
Alouette, gentille alouette, (Lark, gentle lark)
Alouette, je te plumerais. (Lark, I will pluck you)
Je te plumerais les nez. (I will pluck your nose)
Je te plumerais les nez. (I will pluck your nose)
Et les nez, Et les nez ! (Your nose, your nose)
Et les nez, Et les nez ! (Your nose, your nose)
A, a, a, a
Alouette, gentille alouette,
Alouette, je te plumerais.
Je te plumerais les youx. (I will pluck your eyes)
Je te plumerais les youx.
Et les youx, Et les youx !
Et les youx, Et les youx !
A, a, a, a
Alouette, gentille alouette,
Alouette, je te plumerais.
Je te plumerais la bouche. (I will pluck your mouth)
Je te plumerais la bouche.
Et la bouche, et la bouche !
Et la bouche, et la bouche !
A, a, a, a
Alouette, gentille alouette,
Alouette, je te plumerais.
Je te plumerais les bras. (I will pluck your arms)
Je te plumerais les bras.
Et les bras, et les bras !
Et les bras, et les bras !
A, a, a, a
Alouette, gentille alouette,
Alouette, je te plumerais.
Je te plumerais les mains. (I will pluck your hands)
Je te plumerais les mains.
Et les mains, et les mains !
Et les mains, et les mains !
A, a, a, a
Alouette, gentille alouette,
Alouette, je te plumerais.
Je te plumerais les jambes. (I will pluck your legs)
Je te plumerais les jambes.
Et les jambes, et les jambes !
Et les jambes, et les jambes !
A, a, a, a
Alouette, gentille alouette,
Alouette, je te plumerais.
Je te plumerais les pied. (I will pluck your feet)
Je te plumerais les pied.
Et les pied, et les pied !
Et les pied, et les pied !
A, a, a, a

And here's another one, Kagome Kagome. A Japanese children's game song. One child will be chosen as oni, or demon, and have to guess who's standing behind him/her. It's not so bad... except the tune is pretty creepy (totally not cheerful like children songs should be) and plus the fact it's about demon... yea...

かごめかごめ 籠の中の鳥は Kagome Kagome Kago no naka no Tori wa
いついつ出やる 夜明けの晩に Itsu Itsu deyaru? Yoake no ban ni
鶴と亀と滑った Tsuru to kame ga subetta.
後ろの正面だあれ。 Ushiro no shoumen daare ?

Kagome, Kagome, the bird in the cage,
when will you come out?
In the evening of the dawn, the crane and turtle slipped.
Who stands right behind you now?

Sometimes the last few lines are translated literally as the following:

At dawns and evenings.
Who is in front of the back,
where a crane and turtle slipped and fell?

And here's an English one, Gopher Guts:

Great green globs of greasy grimy gopher guts,
Mutilated monkey meat,
Little dirty birdies' feet,
Great green globs of greasy grimy gopher guts,
And I forgot my spoon!
Great green gobs of greasy grimy gopher guts,
Mutilated monkey meat,
Itsy bitsy birdie feet,
French fried eye-balls,
Rolling down a muddy street,
And I forgot my spoon....But I got my straw!
Great green gobs of greasy grimy gopher guts,
Mutilated monkey meat,
Saturated birdy feet,
All wrapped up in all purpose porpoise pus.
And me without a spoon!
Gee whiz! (but I've got a straw)
Great green gobs of greasy grimy gopher guts
Mutilated monkey meat
Chopped up dirty birdy feet.
A one pound jar of all purpose porpoise pus
Swimming in pink lemonade.
Scab sandwich, spit on top
Monkey vomit, camel snot
Eagle eye and cookie goo
Made a sandwich just for you.

Makes me wonder... do the children realize what they are singing? In fact, does the parents actually listen to the content of the songs that children sings?

What a morbid world....

Deja vu anyone?

I was just minding my own studies the other day (it being the day of my midterm held at night) when my roommate came back from buying dinner and informed me that she's going next door to play cards. FYI, next door means the room besides ours instead of another apartment. I was curious, I mean I know they play cards every once in a while but I have never went to join or even see what kind of card games they're playing. And I admit, I was plain bored from studying and it being just an hour and a half from exam, I decided to venture into the next room to check out the fuss.

Turn out they were playing 'chor di' on the floor. And no, I did not play... I think I'll lose. Not because they're that good, but more like they have no tactics, techniques or even styles! They just throw out whichever cards they have and hope that their last card will win. The one game which I sat through from beginning to the end have them throwing all the big cards and the last few cards are all small numbers. Granted, it's real good for a laugh 'cause it's so haywire! I even told them that they have no tactics, which they just laugh at.

That brought me to think about the whole house and the 'structure'. It's eerily similar to my first year where I stayed at EP as well. My room then was facing the toilet, like the room I'm having now. And the room where they all go play 'chor di', yup, the same room was used to play 'chor di' in my first year. And when take in account the characters I have in my house now and then... they are almost alike.

Scary... but fun!

It's just unfortunate that they all speaks in Mandarin and not Cantonese like my first year. Of course, the minute they all realize I understands Mandarin despite not speaking it... well, taking advantage would be the right word to use. They just go on speaking in mandarin to me despite me replying in English. Ah... beggars can't be choosers I guess.

I told my old roomy about my new housemates and all, and she just laugh her head off. She came back to EP for a year without me, and she managed to land the room facing the toilet. Maybe it's fate that we just have that room...

Or maybe lady Fate is having a good laugh at my expense... who knows?

Well, as long as it doesn't hurt me or put me in trouble, deja vu amuses me too.

Update for the month of February!!

Hmm... now that I think about it, update for the month of February includes CNY as well isn't it? Hmm... Ah! Now I remember, I absolutely have to post a few pictures up. Especially the dress I wore for the 1st day. You guys will never believe I actually wore something like this for the whole day...

Nice dress? What do you guys think? My labrat claimed that he has never seen me so girlish! My dad was actually pretty pleased with the dress... which I'm very surprise and pleased... since he's a hard man to please with his old-fashioned mind. I guess it helps too when my Lili is dress more provocatively... Hehehe...

And the picture below... is my niece!!! Some-what... my cousin's daughter. Cute brat, but damn, she has a damn good pair of lungs.

I had a good CNY in whole. Had a great time with my cousins as well as the normal gathering on the 3rd day of CNY. Chao is right though, this year's gathering lacked a lot of people. Sigh... how sad...

After that, I have been in Malacca for my final semester... and I must say... It's boring. With a capital B... as a matter of fact, capitalize the whole word. Can't help it I guess, half my normal hang-out buddies have return to their respective home town... Miss you guys lots...

I guess the highlight of my time here would be GACC which was held on March 1 and 2. I was asked (Note: begged by puppy eyes, threatened and whined at) to attend by one of my friends as she will be cos-playing... I guess she want to show off her outfit... Of course, was suppose to go together with Ray, Mei Ling and a few others but they ended up going KL and I'm left all alone... and I did tell Uncle Ee I'll be going to see him play in his band... and another friend to meet up... So ya, I went on my own in the end. Damn near freak out right at the entrance... you people better be thankful I actually went AND stayed. On both days too!!

I admit, I did have fun... lots of fun. Especially on the 2nd day since Chao was there. Met her friend Imran there... He's a nice guy, I just wished he did not feel the need to tell me how Hard Gay smells like up close. Ignorance is truly bliss you know... I mean... right. Next!

Go find Chao for nice pictures of the event. I did not take any pictures... will get some from a few friends, but go get it from those who has a camera! Hehehe...

Right... and that's it for the month of February...

I know i know... but a lazy person like me need slack... so... until next time!

When I remember that is....

Back to school...

I'm back in Malacca... for my final semester. It feels really, really odd to be back here after so long not having any classes or lectures. And the stupidest thing? I'm only back here for a week. Then it's CNY... no idea why the admin can't make it so that some of us don't have to make the long trip back.

Then again, not like it makes any difference since some of the students never bother to come back... Unfortunately I'm not one of them...

And I'm living in EP, which stands for Emerald Park, an apartment-style hostel for MMU students just outside campus. Which means everyday, for classes, lunch, dinner, and any other actvities, I have to climb up and down three floors of stairway. Man, for a lazy person like me it really sucks.

And I forgot how tasteless the food is back here in Malacca... I wanna go home!!! *Sob...

I'm stopping my update, before I sound even more pathetic...

Friday, 11 January 2008

It's friday today, officially 5 days since I have stop working in Borders! Wahahahaha... it was fun working there, and I get to polish up my people skills, which probably many of you will say that it's rotten or non-existance... but come on, with so many of you being such good PRs, what the use of little old me? Hehehehe

CNY's coming... and I can't believe my mum actually bully me into buying a dress for new year! Okay, I admit that I do not have any new clothes for the new year, or shoes... or anything... but hey, I still got time, don't I? Instead she actually came to Borders on my last day and bug me to go buy at least a dress for new year... and I actually did...

I don't know whether I should despair over the fact my mum bug me to buy a new dress or the fact I actually did to shut her up... mothers....

Okay, for those of you who are going out together on the third of CNY, well, please, pretty please decide a place to eat and all... I don't wanna go Nandos again just because Jermaine says so... we have been to Nandos for the past 3 CNY!!! Maybe not Gurney then... wa!!!

Talking about Gurney, I went there few weeks ago, near the full moon and I got some pretty great pictures of the moon. I shall post it up for your eyes to feast on.

That's all for now. Ciao!!
